Katra: Welcome to Jammu
The first inclusion in the Jammu and Kashmir tour itinerary is the pickup from the Jammu Tawi Railway Station. The agent’s representative will be there to receive you.
From there you will be escorted to Katra for check-in, dinner, and overnight stay at the hotel.
The second day of your Kashmir tour package includes an early breakfast and transfer to Banganga. From here you are supposed to head to the temple of Mata Vaishno Devi on your own. The 12 km pilgrimage can be covered on foot or by riding a pony.
In the evening, you will be picked up from Banganga and transferred back to the Katra hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, head for a journey to Pahalgam. En route, you can opt for sightseeing tour of Patnitop and enjoy some splendid views. Have lunch at a restaurant on the way and head on towards Pahalgam.
After check-in at the hotel, the evening is at leisure. You can take a pony ride to the Baisaran Valley or visit the beautiful Betaab Valley. The Kashmir tour package also includes dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Pahalgam.
After breakfast in the hotel in Pahalgam, the morning is available at leisure. After an early lunch at the hotel/ local restaurant you will be transferred Srinagar.
Once you reach Dal Lake, check into the houseboats docked at the jetty and relax for a while. In the evening, you can take Shikara rides to the Nehru Park. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay in the houseboat.
Distance from Pahalgam to Dal Lake: 95 km
Getaway to Gulmarg
Head to Gulmarg after a hearty breakfast in Srinagar. The day is available for leisure activities such as golf, nature walks, bird watching, and pony rides.
You can visit the Maharani Temple and Ziarat of Baba Reshi or try zorbing at the Children’s Park. You can even visit the highest golf course in the world. But the most popular thing to include in the tour package in Kashmir is the Gondola Cable Car Ride to Khilanmarg.
After an exciting day, head back for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
After a hearty breakfast and check-out from the Gulmarg hotel, proceed to Srinagar. You can take an excursion directly to the Shankaracharya Hill Temple before proceeding for check-in and lunch at the Srinagar hotel.
In the evening, you can take a tour of the beautiful Grand Mughal Gardens; namely Chashme Shahi, Nishat Bagh, and Shalimar Bagh. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay
A day out in Srinagar
Next in your Kashmir tour itinerary is a day’s excursion to Sonamarg after a filling breakfast at the hotel in Srinagar. Have lunch in a local restaurant and head for a pony ride at the Thajiwas Glacier.
You can also visit Khir-Bhawani and Narang temples. Ganderbal is a another great option because of the watersports available at the Manasbal Lake. But due to limited time, you will not be able to cover all of these.
In the evening, you will be taken back to the hotel in Srinagar for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the Jammu railway station for departure. This concludes your holiday in Kashmir.
It is possible, but we suggest not taking a night halt in Sonamarg because it might lead to an increase in the number of days or decrease in the attractions covered.
No, due to the local government’s transport rules the sightseeing cost is not included in the package cost. Pony rides, Gondola rides, water sports, and other activities are also charged extra. On request, the agent can provide an idea of this cost as well.
You can expect frequent power cuts on the houseboats. Also, the housekeeping is not available at all hours. Since the food has to be brought from outside, timings of all meals are also fixed to prevent the food from getting cold.
The Gondola ride in Gulmarg, water sports at Ganderbal in Sonamarg, and river rafting in the Lidder River at Pahalgam are the optional tours that must not be missed on this trip.
