Kaza is freezing during winters. The main entry points, Rohtang Pass and Kunzum Pass, both remain closed from October end to June due to heavy snowfall. January is recorded as the coldest month of the year. Summers (March to June) bring the best time to visit this quaint hill town. May to October is also good for nature lovers to enjoy scenic beauty spread here.

Although, there is no plethora to try when it comes to local food in Kaza, yet travelers can sample Tibetan culinary treats. A curried dish made of peas and potato is quite popular here. Thukpa and momos are also widely available and are relished. Tibetan bread is made of millet flour or barley and can be enjoyed with omelet, jam, or butter.

Park View Restaurant and Sachin Kunga Restaurant are good to enjoy Indian food. To relish authentic Tibetan flavors, Sol Café is a great choice.

Paragliding, skiing, rafting, zorbing, angling, river crossing, snow scooter ride, cable car ropeway ride, and kayaking are some of the activities for a great leisure time in Manali.
